Quick update of the vibe out here in Hon. So I'm basically preparing the area for my son now. It's not possible for me to baptize again here but I'm still working trying to leave my son (companion) with something to work with you feel? We've been visiting the members gaining more trust and more food, haha. The rainy season is startin up and I'm diggin it. We were walking to our house on Friday and it started to pour down on us out of nowhere. We didn't have umbrellas or jackets. Nada. I was pretty happy to be rained on again like the good old times in Guayape. Ha, ha. My comp wasn't too happy. We made it to our house and changed clothes. All of the clothes that I spent ages washing got blown off the clothes line onto the dirty ground so I've got to wash them again. Also my Real mMadrid jersey blew into our neighbor's back yard. They gave it back, but it's pretty creepy now. Lots of stains. On Saturday night we were out on the street talking to some thugs waiting for a member to make our dinner. One of the main gippers of the street joined in on the conversation and started sayin soooome crrreeeep stuff if you asked me. Its too inappropriate to send in this email, but I'm sure you can imagine. She asked me if I was going to come back for her to marry her after the mish and I was like ha. FUNNY! She was like so you're just gonna leave me here!? I was like yeah, sorry. Gulp. Now she's going for my comp. I'd like to share a bit about something I've been studying a tad lately about gifts. So we all have gifts given to us from God. Not all of us have the same gifts but everyone at least has one gift. These gifts are not given to us for our own benefit but are used in order to help the lives of others. If we are not sure what our gifts are, we can pray and ask God. He can tell us with the spirit, he can help us recognize what our gifts are and how we can use them to help others. Search up gifts in the dictionary in the book of Mormon read the definition and then read the scriptures up in there. They are good. Another way to remember what our gifts are is by reading our patrarchal blessing. God has given us this blessing to show us our capability and who we can become in this life. I'm thankful for my oportunity to be here in Honduras using my gifts in order to love others and guide them unto Christ. Love you guys have a good week! Elder Sullivan

MY HOUSE Hola Amigos, I'd like to start off the email with a shoutout to my homie Bryson Childs! He got his mission call to Honduras, Comayaguela!!!!! (That's where I am if you didn't know). He leaves August 8, so when he gets to the field I'll still be here! We went to Walmart on p'day but it just wasn't the same. It was soooo nasty. I had my expectations sooo high and It turned out to be suuuper ghetto. Today we're going to the Pikacho it's a huge statue of Jesus i'm pretty sure. I'll have some pics next week. This week was rough sorry to say. I feel like this area is just on a downward slope to straight death! We still haven't put any fechas, We've been contacting a ton and trying to get references pero, nada. Actually we do have 1 good investigator right now. Her name is Melisa She has 2 kids 8 years and 5 years. And a husband. She wants to be baptized but she vends tortillas every day. She wakes up at 4 in the morning to do it. We have an appointment on wednesday and we are going to see if we can throw down a baptismal date. She is able to get work off on Sundays so we'll see what happens. That's all for this week. Elder Sullivan We made pastelitos with mashed potatoes inside. I had to mash the potatoes with my hands. Pastelitos are like empanadas. Yum!
Well guys, I just want to tell you that It's getting a tad boring out in this area. I mean I've been here ever since I left my training! That's why basically nothing exciting or diferent happens these days. But I'm out of here in 4 weeks so everything's chill. I did intercambios with Vazquez in my area this week. It was a rough day though because nobody was home and all the thugs were insulting me. I've been teaching this homie of mine English lately and in return he helps me out with my Spanish. He's super cool. I'm gonna miss him when I bail. His name is Christopher. He has 15 years. The weird thing is that he's not a member or an investigator, just a friend. The dogs in our area have turned creep lately! I really think dogs can sense our fear! I was just walking of these stairs and there was a dog sleeping on one of them. I tried to stealthly step over it to the next step but it just sensed me and started chasing me down! Another night we were walking home from dinner and I saw this pile of trash in the dark. I walked passed it and it started moving, I jumped and realized it was this huge black dog! It sensed my fear and starting trying to eat me! I shouted out like Gus off of Psych but I blocked it with my backpack. The work is still tough around this time of the year. There is this one girl named Asalet. She's 12 and here mom is a member. (inactive) But Asalet never got baptized. The reason is that her dad is a bolo. He hates the church and doesnt allow anything to happen with the missionaries. But I have sort of good sort of bad news. gulp. he died.... So we are going to start teaching Asalet and hopefully reactivate the fam. Aight guys I'm going to Walmart for district p day today because you know how I roll as a dl. Peace and have a great week!! Here's some pictures I just got from my old comp Zapata!! Where I do my laundry. Getting ready for Stake Conference. Fireworks!!! Our Christmas Tree! Thanks mom!!!
Hola Amigos, We made pizza again on P'day as a district. This time we made a BBQ pizza and it was pretty good if you asked me! While we were there one of the Hermanas was throwing up and stuff so I gave her a blessing. Now she's all good so that's dope. I have a pretty creep experience that happened this week... So, I love studying spanish because I can build better relationships with the people here with that skill. So I study a lot. I even practice my accent on the balcony of our house. One day I was practicing my RR's in Spanish. I was on the balcony saying Guerra, Guerra, Guerra, La Guerra fria, etc. I then looked down and there was a lady like 3 feet below me in the other house looking at me out her window. I stopped talking and thought to myself what she must have been thinking. I was saying War, War, War, The Cold War! I started laughing because I just couldn't help it. She saw me laughing and went inside her house with a weirded out look and I did the same. Guuuulp. The work has been dificult this passed week because of Semana Santa. Everybody left for vacations. Including our investigators. Pretty much nobody was home to contact so we decided to try and find some former investigators. We walked down to find a kid that has 13 years. He went to the church once and had a date. We yelled buenas and he came out! But something was off.... He was BOLO!!! He was tripping soooo hard saying the weirdest things! It made me kind of sad just thinking of his life and how he already drinks beer. He said come back another time. So we bailed. Conference was prob my favorite conference I've ever seen! I'M SERIOUS! They really enphasized in 2 things. The pure love of Christ towards him, God, and everyone else. Also personal revelation. We need the spirit. We must live lives guided by the spirit and revelation. We need to learn to recieve revelation or we will fall into temptation much easier. That doesn't mean to sit there and pray to recieve inspiration. We must act and do the work required to recieve the holy ghost. Studying, Praying, Service, Church, etc. We can combine these two things easily. Love, and revelation. We can pray and act in order to recieve revelation in how we can help specific people with dificulties going through trials. Then we can express our love for them like Jesus Christ did when he was here. I learned so much more! I loved the example of the kayak going upstream. The one of emptying the water our of our boats as an example of lightening our burdens through repentence. The small simple things can make huge diferences in our lives. If we continually do good small simple things it will become grand in the future. But remember that satan uses the same techniques to tempt us. I know that every speaker in this general conference recieved personal revelation from god in order to teach us and to help us. Russell M. Nelson is the man on the watchtower there to warn us. He is the Lord's living mouthpiece here on the earth. This is the true church. This is the Church of Jesus Christ. I challenge you to study ponder and pray about these talks continually. I love you guys and have a great week! Elder Sullivan |
