Hola Amigos,
Que ondas mis guirros? Todo cheque todo tranquilo todo tuanny todo macizo todo azul todo fresa todo tombado todo azul todo bien here in that one place. (Basically all of that means what's going on, everything is chill here). I'm pretty sure you know where I am. Anyway. Let me start off with some sketchy stuff aight. We were walking down this street and it's pretty normal that bolos try to talk to us, but this time was deathly. He talked to us for about 30 minutes! He told us some creepy stuff. He said there are goblins from Ireland that live on this hill that have tons of girls in their house and that they smoke weed and stuff. Aparently it's prohibited to talk about them. He said if we go to their house they will try to kill us. He said will you guys prepare yourselves to meet the goblins? I want to take you there! It will change your way of life and the way you see me if you go! We kept trying to say sorry we can't and leave but he wouldn't let us. So fiiinally I was like yeah we'll come back tomorrow to go meet them alright? And he let us go. We saw him the next day from a distance and he saw us. He yelled Heyyy!!! and started walking towards us. We turned the corner and raann! We escaped. We actually saw him yesterday, but good thing he was passed out on a bench so he didn't notice us. Pheww. We had a multizona this week so I got to see one of the missionaries that came with me from the CCM. (Elder Bowen) We learned a lot there about how to work with members and get references and stuff. Also, intercambios with Elder Vazquez this week. He's from Mexico and pretty cool if you ask me. I went to his area for the day. We put a date with one of his investigators. It was dope. Our fechas didn't go to church this week we were disapointed. We passed by to get them in the morning and they were all ready. They said they would meet us there in about 30 minutes but they never showed up. We introduced the Book of Mormon to Ricardo and Fabio and they were very interested and had a lot of questions. We also get along well and talk a lot. I have a feeling that we can put a date with them next visit. Not really anything else that happened this week. Juan Orlando is officially the president now, but surprisingly it's pretty chill here. I learned a lot about the sacrement this week and it's very interesting. I realized even more the importance of taking the sacrement every Sunday. I know sometimes when I took the sacrement I didn't really think about what I was doing all that much. I was just like dannng I'M HUNGRY! But I really am grateful for that opurtunity we have to go to church everyweek to partake of the sacrement. I challenge you guys to study something about the sacrement. Maybe search for a talk on lds.org about it or idk but you feel? Have a good week guys! Elder Sullivan

Hola guirros! This week was a little bit of a change for me. One of the areas in my zone was closed. (The area of the District Leader) Now I'm the district leader for the areas that he was in charge of. I am in charge of Country B, Residenciales, and Santa Fe. Now I can't really chill at night because I'm going ham calling everyone until I go to bed.
I've been sick this week with a gripa de infierno. It's actually almost gone, but I still have the cough of death and it might be the cough for life! My comp and I cooked quite a tad this week if you ask me. We made some french toast and some breakfast burritos. I'll hook you gills up with some pics. So there's this little girl in my area that is reealllly creepy. Let me tell you. I've actually never heard her say anything. Everytime she sees us she comes up with a wieiiiirrrrd smile on her face and starts squeezing my stomach and laughing. I just sit there like maaaaan this girl neessss soome millkk. Yeah, she trips haard. We've been teaching our fechas trying to prepare them for their baptism. They couldn't hit up the iglesia this week so we had to extend their date to the 10th. We hope that they will be ready by then. They are suuuper humble and nice. It's 6 people but they aren't a family. They live in a small house inside of a cuarteria. Their house doesn't even have lights so we have to teach them with flashlights, but they really do want to be baptized and I hope everything works out my friends. That's actually all for this week, but next week there will be more. IM SERIOUS! Good luck with your week and your goals and all the stuff you feeeeeellll? Peaaace! I would like to challenge you to try and fast this week. It really can help you and god will bless you because of it. If you have questions, doubts, or goals. Just pray and fast and you will receive help from on high. Have a good week! Elder Sullivan Hola Amigos, Elder Clegg is doooope guys. He's from Spanish Fork and is going to UVU when he gets back from the mish. He has 15 months. We've been working hard this week and it has paid off! We actually didn't work on Wednesday because Clegg was throwing up. I think he ate something bad, BUT after that things got better. We basically went ham this week trying to find new investigators and we ended up finding a gold mine! 4 investigators that live in the same house. They have all been to our church before! They are all teenagers but they aren't family. It's a little weird if you ask me, but who cares man! 2 of them actually have Mormon parents that are inactive! I'm excited to see if they can progress! I had my first baptism this Saturday. I can't believe I had to wait almost 6 months to get there! But it felt good. Our ward mission leader is pretty lazy. He's cool but ya know he doesn't want to do anything. We asked him to do the agenda for the baptism, the talks the hiymns prayer etc. He said yeah man I do it. We showed up on Saturday for the baptism which was supposed to be at 5 pm. We waited for about an age for our mission leader to show but he didn't. We ended up having to make our own agenda in 5 minutes and we started the baptism at 6! It's all good now though because she's baptised and confirmed. DANG. Yesterday was a day of the creeeps. It actually started out good though. We passed by for those 4 investigators to take them to church but they weren't there. We were pretty bummed out for that. We were chilling about 20 minutes in to sacrament meeting and guess what!!! They all showed up!! i was smiling and suppper happy! The day went death from there. After church we ate some lunch and went to contact. As we were walking we ran into this bolo (a drunk guy). Man he was tripping pretty hard. He stopped us and started saying some weird stuff. He had a magazine with pictures of super nice houses and he was telling us, "Hey we want to make Honduras look like this. Can you guys help us out?" We said sooorrry dude. We don't have anything. He then said "Can you guys drive me somewhere?" We knew this bro was tripping hard. He eventually saw this car pass by and zoned out for a bit. We took our chance and bailed out of that gizzard. The same street we hit another bolo! He begged us for money and kept asking to trade jackets with my comp. At the end of the street we turned right onto a street I've never seen. We walked up the hill and behold a gang of bolos!!! Even one of them from before was there!! We were gonna turn around but it was too late. We tried walking by casually, but come on we knew something was gonna happen. One the bolos with a hat on started chasing us saying "Come here, come here!" We told him we were in a hurry but he started running. He caught up to us and said "Hey, I need help can you please help me?" we said with what? He then walked us a little further up the street and showed us his house. It had a ladder leading into some creepy room. He pointed at his house and then took off his hat. His suuuuppper long hair came out and he started whipping his hair all majestically like Justin Bieber of something. He said "Come into my house at least one of you pleeeaaasssee." He said "I look like Hesus don't I?" We were like haha yeaaah suree duuude. He said "I am your Lord!" We gave him a pamphlet but he still wouldn't leave us alone. He grabbed our hands and started rubbing them on his face and kissing them. Then he got our hands and pounded them on his chest like Donkey Kong. He started singing iii hhaaaave the hooolly ghooosttt! Dang, I didn't think a man could triipp that hard. We said bro we gotta go but we'll go in your house another time. Wow crazy stuff am I right?! Anyway, I just want to give you some scriptures to read that really helped me learn about recognizing answers to my prayers. Read Coctrina y Convenios seccion 6, 8, and 9 it talks about how to pray and what we should look for for our answers. Have a good week pleaaaaaassssse!! love you!!! Elder Sullivan Hey Amigos, How's it going? Todo tranquilo aqui en Las Mercedes. I can't believe this change is allready over!! It was a doooope time con Zapata mi chileno favorito! And now it's time for another change mis amigos!
Area: Las Mercedes (Same area) Companion: Elder Clegg I will also be the new District Leader here in Las Mercedes. I'm stoked and ready for this change. First gringo comp too ha,ha. I hope I can keep my Spanish flowin. Anyway I'd like to tell you a tad about my week! First of all I'd like to say.... It's a NEW YEAR! Let's make this year great! It's the perfect time to set goals, to lose or make habits! You feel? I will be in Honduras this whole year and tha'ts not a problem dude! I'm looking forward to continuie serving the people of this country! This week we went out to contact with a bro. His name is Fernando and he's 13. We actually found a pretty good investigator. Her name is Nancy. She is very interested in going to church! This week she had conjutivitis, but next week she's going. I can feel it. She's prob 40 years old and has 3 kids. The prob is that she's not married. Dang. We'll see how things go with her. We are having a baptism this Saturday. I don't know if you remember Natalie but she's cool. She's 9 and her family is inactive. But yeah I'm pretty excited for that if you ask me. So I bought this speaker for 1800 lemps and it broke the 3rd day after I bought it. I tried taking it back with my comp but the bro just pretended like it wasnt broke. I was pretty mad for paying that much money and getting una basura. So. This week I made a plan. I got the zone leaders to help me. We got ourselves together and went back. This time the dude was scared. We said a prayer that we could touch his heart to let us return the speaker haha. And it worked my friends. He took the speaker this time. I ended up having to spend 1800 lemps on stuff from the store so i bought a less expensive speaker that wasn't broke. We all good now! My comp is a master at making these things called Completos! It's a comida chileno. We bought a loaf of french bread and some other good ingredients. We cut the loaf in half and threw in some eggs, tomato, and sausage. I put chile on mine but my comp doesnt like it haha. We cut it in half and we each ate our own. Mmmmmmm. I have pics but on my comp's cam. I'll send them some day. Have a grrrreeeeeaaaat weeek!! Seeee yaaaaa!!! Elder Sullivan Hola Amigos,
No email last week because I was talking to the fam! A ton has happened in these last 2 weeks! I don´t have much time to write today so I´m just gonna talk about the major highlights. Christmas! The people here celebrate Christmas very diferent. It´s basically New years. Everyone makes Torrejas and Tomales on Christmas Eve. Some are pretty good, but most of them are really nasty if you ask me. They call Christmas Eve Noche Buena. When it gets dark the people start to go ham. The music starts bumpin and the people start dancing. Tons of fireworks too. That goes on all night long. At 12 when it´s actually Christmas there are fireworks everywhere in the sky. We have some dope neighbors. We partied with them on Christmas. At 12 things got crazy. Some bro rolled into the house with a massive trash bag filled with some stuff. Not just any stuff guys, he came over to me and my companion and started pulling out Morteros as long as my arm!! They aren´t even fireworks. They are basically huge sticks of dynamite. I had the opurtunity to light one off it was super dope! They are soo loud that it leaves your ears ringing! After a mortero blows up the whole street is filled with paper. And thats just from one, so by the end of the craziness the streets are fiiiiilllled man. Now the actual day of Christmas the people don´t do anything. They sleep because they are all hung over. I'M SERIOUS! On Christmas nobody is in the streets its like I was on The Walking Dead or something. New Years! The exact same thing as Christmas except for more fireworks! Luckily we have a super dope balcony with a nice view so we were able to see all of the fireworks from last night. One more thing... This week I ate something reaalllly creepy. We went to our usual Saturday lunch at a member's house. Usually she gives us some normal pollo with tortillas and rice. This time she gave us a soup. The soup had papas (potatoes), rice, and some odd looking meat. We ate it. The meat tasted really weird and I knew something was off. It was all soggy and slimy. After we ate we were talking for a tad. We were saying goodbye, but before we left the lady said "Wait. I need to ask you something. Do you guys know what you just ate?" We were like HA. no. She told us it was LENGUA DE VACA! Cow tongue man!!! My comp actually liked it. I said I liked it but really I had to force it down. We have a really good investigator. Basically a for sure baptism. Her name is Natally shes 9 and wants to be baptised. Her family is inactive. We talked to her parents and they said they want her to be baptised so we have a date for the 13th of January. That's all for today. Sorry I didn´t write much. I had a small amount of time to write. Have a great day! Elder Sullivan |
