Well this is the email you've been waiting for. #Changes!! The whole week before changes I was preparing myself mentally to train again, because my pres straight up told me in my interview to prepare myself to train again this change. Anyway, we arrived at Lempira where all the homies that have changes go. So we were sitting down listening to the pres call out the companionships and I wasn't really paying attention cause I knew I'd train, but all of a sudden I heard my name and there was some dude standing up and it was my new comp! His name is Elder Escamilla. He's from Guatemala, even though he doesn't look anything like them. He's tan, tall, and has green eyes with curly hair too haha. He has 6 months in the mish. He's a super chill funny dude. I've got to say that I think he might end up being one of my favorite comps. Anyway, I felt super good working with him this week and we ended up having a great week. To start off, my recent convert Josue is so dope! He made us donuts! They were super good. Anyway, the guy already got laid off from work so he was feeling a bit sad this week, but we talked to him and lifted his spirits and he has been looking for a new job all this week. Josue went to the temple on Saturday. He entered to see the baptisms but he couldn't do it because he doesn't have the priesthood.... but SURPRISE now he has it. He got ordained and received the Aaronic priesthood this Sunday!! I'm so proud of him. He's even trying to invite all of his friends to the church now. I dig it. Anyway, the whole week I'd been thinking what happened with Bryson. If he had made it to the mish, and if he did who was his comp! But one night I received a call from an unknown number. I answered and asked who it was. It was Valadez, my super dope trainer from Guayape. He is my best comp I've had so far but he then told me.. hey there's someone here that wants to talk to you. He started talking in English and I recognized his voice... IT WAS BRYSON (ELDER CHILDS) !!!!!! I went ham!! We talked a bit and I told him he was super lucky to be trained by Valadez. Haha crazy stuff right. Anyway we should see each other soon in the multizone. Well guys we've been working hard and were gonna keep it up. We've foound some dope dudes to teach and a few of them went to church this week. I dig it. Love you guys I'll try to get some pics up in here. Me and my new comp.

What's up jomies! All of the gangsters here say Jomi. It's pretty funny. I'm pretty happy because this week went very good. It started off with a dope p day with our zone. We played capture the flag at the church, had a water balloon fight, played some old man ball Latino version, which means we played soccer. And we ordered KFC to the church too. Pretty good stuff if you asked me.
The week was pretty normal until the end on the 15th. It was Independence day of Honduras. There were a ton of parades goin on, not close to our house though, but we were seeing on the tv for a bit. All of the high schools start their march on the boulevard but they all finish in the national stadium in Tegucigalpa and they march some laps on the track. We were watching the parade in the stadium and it was filled. IT was all chill but then someone threw a smoke bomb! And not a normal one. It's a very dangerous one that many countries have banned because people can become seriously injured. Anyway we just saw smoke come out of nowhere and then all of the stadium panicked and ran out of there! There were tons of people passed out, a lot of kids and babies crying. It was really sad and it was live tv! Everyone left the stadium because the police started throwing people to the ground trying to find who threw the bomb. They started punching all of the teenage dudes just thinking that it was them that did it. Independence day died right there. but I mean it's Honduras. Stuff like that happens all the time. That same day in the night we had a baptism!!!! Josue !! I knew he was gonna get baptized. I'm so happy for him. He didn't know who he wanted to have baptize him so he flipped a coin and Flores ended up doing it. It was a great experience. Flores and I ended up sharing our experiences with Josue and teaching him and the miracles that happened and then Josue talked too. It was a very spiritual experience. He was confirmed the next day. The changes are here, but they are different now. They just tell us today if we are leaving or not. My comp is out and I will be training these 2 changes here in Tiloarque. I'm suuuper excited because there's a lot of people to be baptized in these 3 months. On Tuesday i'll find out who my son is. Love you guys!! Well guys, nothing much happened this week... BUT. I had an interview with Pres. Mejia and he said that I'm going to train again in my area, so that means I'll be here for 3 more months. I'm pretty sure i'll be training one of the thousand gringos that are coming this change and who knows it might even be BRYSON. That'd be craaazy and suuuper doooooope.
Josue went to church another time. He's already been 4 times in a row. He had a baptismal interview last week but he said he didn't feel ready. He wants to receive a stronger testimony first. We are going to start reading the Book of Mormon with him to help him out. He's a super humble guy. I dig it. He lives soooo far from the church but he's gone 4 times in a row. I know he's gonna be baptised but who knows when. I remember the first time we taught him. He had been looking for work for more than a year. But we shared our testimonies and taught him and I gave him the promise that if he went to the church that Sunday, then he would be able to find work and that God would bless him for his efforts. He went to church that Sunday and the same week he found a job. He was blessed even more because he doesn't have to work on Sundays so he can go to church and he keeps coming. I hope we will be able to baptise him this week or the next. I was studying the teachings of Ezra Taft Benson. He's soo dope and I love the part that talks about pride. I thought I knew about what being humble was until reading it but I learned that I'm not even close. I read some really powerful stuff in there. I'll try to translate it to English but it might not be as good. A prideful person asks himself "What do I want to do with my life" instead of asking "What does God want me to do with my life" A lot of times we do this, especially me. I am going to try to think more about what God wants for me instead of what i want for myself. "It doesn't matter what someone else thinks about you, what matters is that you are okay in the eyes of the Lord." Prideful people focus themselves on competencias? Ha,ha I don't remember that word. Competing with others with opinions, jobs, possessions, talents, and other worldly values. Something that makes us prideful a lot of the time is comparing ourselves with others. We should only try to do what God wants for us and try to follow the example of his son Jesus Christ. For some the question "What will they think of me" matters more that "what will God think of me." We must conquer pride by being humble. We can do this by praying, serving others, magnifying our callings, reading the scriptures, always thanking God for what he gives us and asking him for things that HE wants for us. Love you guys! Have a good week!!! This week was pretty good untill Sunday. We did interchanges in my area I was there half the day with my distric leader Gomez and the other half with my Zone Leader Polito. It was suuuper good. We taught soooo many good lessons and found a lot of people. We had a lot of people with baptism dates. We were supposed to have 2 baptisms this week but they didn't go to church so they can't now. It's sooo sad because they are so interested in the gospel and then something always happens on Sunday so they can't go. We visited them on Saturday night and they were like yeah we're for sure gonna go tomorrow, but they couldn't go because the husband left to work early and couldn't take them, so we ended up with 0 in the church. We are going to see what we can do this week. We should definotely have a baptism this week though because the guy already went to church 3 times. We had a mulitzone and presidente machetied us pretty hard but he taught us a lot of new things to try. We are gonna put it in practice this week and see the results. I got my new shoes!!! I thought my shoes were doing really good untill I saw the new ones. Gulp. There is a big difference. I'll try to send some pics of that. The president's wife gave us a health and diet presentation. I realized that I have been eating really bad. I haven't bought anything from a pulperia since that day and I've been drinking a toooon of water. I feel a lot better now. I don't know if you guys remember Sara, that 15 year old gangster boss with crazy hair and tats. Anyway, this week some bros shot her so she's dead now. It's pretty sad because a member that is her friend was crying. I really like Alma 27 18. In this scripture it talks about how we can find joy. We must repent and humbly look for happiness. As members we already have found this joy in our lives or at least experienced a small part of it. We should always try to help people find the joy that comes by doing those things. One thing I've learned in my mission is that we should look at every person as a child of God. It doesn't matter what they look like or what they do. What matters is who they can become. That's why it's soo important to share the gospel with others so they can find this happiness and one day make it back to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ with their families. The court where I schooled the gangstas! My old shoes This is what they look like when they're new! My basketball homie Bryson Childs will be coming to the mish soon! Pupusas
