I baptized the two smallest girls. One has 9 years and the other has 12. Pretty dope week if you asked me! On pday we went to the church in Lempira and celebrated my birthday. We ate some tres leches and played futbol with the zone! I did a 5 hour division with Elder Fallas. He's injured so I just rested with him and we chilled and played the ukelele it was dope. We have a Johnny Rockets in our area. I hadn't ever eaten there before the mish and I tried it first in Honduras. I don't know what's up with that, but it was pretty good. I've already eaten there twice. I also did intercambios this week with one of the zone leaders in his area, Elder Castro. He trained Elder Briggs, one of the bros that came with me. It was a good time. He's super chill. This week we worked super hard with our fechas and they ended up getting baptised on Saturday. 3 of them. 1 of them drank coffee so she has to wait untill this Saturday. It was a good feeling to see how the hard work has paid off and how the Lord has helped us in La Pradera. We hope to baptize 2 this coming Saturday. I baptised 2 of the girls and did one of the confirmations in the church on Sunday. I was pretttttyyy nervous because it was in front of all the congregation and there was no microphone. My legs were shakin a tad but it turned out good. I've been having fun in this area, I've met so many dope people here, investigators and members. I'm excited to keep grindin. P.S everyone pray for the beard (James Harden) and the Rockets because they neeeeeed to win the championship this year!!!!

Our house. Peace out Mercedes. Now I'm here in La Pradera. It's a huuuuge area. Flat parts, hilly parts, niceparts, ghetto parts. It has everything. Good members and investigators. My companion is Elder Santay he has 23 years and is from Guatemala. Super funny, really chill, and pretty dope I'd say. We worked suuuuper hard this week. I arrived at the perfect time ha, ha. There are a ton of good progressing investigators that we are teaching. We are trying to get a few couples married too. We are expecting 5 baptisms this Saturday. They are all young girls ranging from 9 to 13 years. They are really funny and great for joking around. I've already developed a good relationship with them and we have been teaching them every other day. We wake up at 6 to play soccer with the other missionaries and members on Wednesdays and Fridays. It's really fun. I've been getting good at soccer lately I'd say. The members are really chill and actually a lot more friendly that those in my other area. They are willing to leave and work with us and give us references! We worked really hard this week preparing the cipotas for their baptism this Saturday. The thing I love about my comp is that we work hard but we have fun together. The time flies! I feel the spirit a lot here. I feel that I'm going to learn a lot here. I love it so far. I had to eat cow liver this week and it was nnnnaaaassssttttyyyyyy!! So in Alma it talks about the necesity of repenting everyday, even of the small things. We are here on the earth to prepare ourselves to meet God. Sometimes we think that we only need to repent of the big things. We sin everyday. We must pray to God and ask for the spirit to let us know what we should repent of. If we do this we will develope more attributes of Christ and become more like him. Love you guys. Have a good week! Elder Sullivan More pics of our house! Me, my homie Christopher, and one of his little bros, David. Christopher is helping me with my Spanish and I am teaching him English. The family Pena that gives us lunch on Sunday. Well this week went by reeaaally slow because I was just hoping to get out of this place. But I found out what's gonna go down for changes. I'm outta this joint, headin to La Pradera in Zona Comayaguela. I've heard this area is one of the most dangerous in the mish. My companion is Elder Santay. This week was one of the most boring ones of my mish untill Mother's Day. It was so dope talking to my fam again! I said bye to a few homies this week because I won't be able to today. And I'll be spending my day today saying bye to all the people I made good relationships with. So guys I'd like to give you some advice that can help you a lot! I'm sure all of you guys pray right? How many of you get caught up in saying a quick repeated prayer in the morning or before you go to bed? Anyway, God doesnt like hearing the same things over and over. We should always pray from our hearts, kneeling, showing respect to God. Asking questions, Asking for spiritual and temporal things and always giving thanks. If you are already doing this you'rw a beast. If not, I challenge you to start thinking more deeply because when we pray we are actually talking to our Heavenly Father. I have been focusing a lot in this and it has given me a better perspective in life, more hope, faith, and humility. Elder Sullivan My hair is getting bleached by the sun. Sister Rojas from Costa Rica We eat mango verde in Honduras with salt and Chile. It's really good! My companion Jimenez made tacos with an alambre. Super good! This is the dope street with the thugs and crazy kids.
Our p-day last week was dope! We have 2 Mexicanos in the district so they made tacos. They made something called an alambre which is just a mix of a bunch of different meats. They were sooo good. We did service this week for some members. They are building an extention onto their house. They needed huge rocks in order to do it. So we hiked up this mountain and started searching for rocks. When we found one we just yelled "Chiva!" which means careful in Honduras. And we rolled it down. Then we had to put the rocks in a wheel barrow and wheel them to the house. The way back to the house is really steep and rocky so we had someone pushing the wheelbarow like normal and then we tied a rope on front and someone helped pull it. We made so many trips so I was dead afterward. Also I have a sunburn of death on my neck and it's the worst because I have to wear church clothes everyday. But it was worth it because they gave us dinner 3 times this week! This week we had an issue with the water. It usually arrives Tuesdays and Fridays but it never came. Also our pila was empty so we couldn't even shower with buckets. We went 4 days without showering! I'M SERIOUS, but we had no choice ya know! Finally one morning I was done. We walked to the house of the zone leaders with our towels and showered there. We have water now though so it's all chill man. I only have one more week in this grill and then i'm out! At least I hope. I'm excited to leave but it's a tad bit sad to say bye to my homies. Hey guys are you reading the Book of Mormon every day? I hope so because if we can read at least 15 minutes everyday we can recieve so much help in our lives! The Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion! By reading it daily we can move closer to God and have a bigger testimony of Jesus Christ. Also. One very important thing.... Don't just start reading the BOM out of nowhere, always start with a prayer to help you have the spirit to comprehend more and to recieve answers to your questions. Peace out guys and happy Mother's Day on Sunday!!! |
