This week was SO GOOD. Well mostly, but that's just life ya know?
Language classes have just been going over things we need help with or just other things we want to learn. Everyone pretty much has the basics down. This week we practiced teaching The Great Apostasia and The Restoration lessons in Portuguese. I thought that it was really cool that we're supposed to quote Joseph Smith exactly from Joseph Smith--History 1:17-18 when we talk about The First Vision. So, I decided to make my own Brinley Sullivan--History with all of my own super spiritual experiences so I can remember them in my own words haha. Kinda weird but I think it will be cool to look back on. There was a little contention in the district, but it has thus been resolved. My district and I made a cute little Book of Mormon video in Portuguese! I sound like SUCH A WHITE GIRL. But it's okay haha we all start somewhere lol. We had an English fast on Friday. It was actually a lot easier that I thought it would be, but it was still super hard. I'm so grateful I have the opportunity to learn a new language in such an awesome environment. We played a kahoot where we all guessed eachother's baby pictures. Everyone could tell which one was mine haha. That's all for this week !! Wild to think that I'll be out in the field in 11 dias !!! I love you all <3 <3 Have a good day, and also have a great day!!

Hey guys! I'm not gonna lie, the weeks are starting to all blur together. I mean I basically do the same thing everyday, so this week I'm going to give you a look into my daily schedule:
6:30 - wake up & exercise 7:00 - eat breakfast & get ready 7:30 - daily planning 8:00 - personal study 9:00 - class 12:00 - lunch 1:00 - language study 2:00 - companionship study 3:00 - TRC (basically a fake lesson to someone most likely pretending to be a nonmember) 4:00 - tutoring session 5:00 - pre work for night class 5:30 - dinner 6:00 - class 9:00 - pre work for morning class 9:30 - get ready + go to sleep yepppp I've been pretty busy but I LOVE IT. I feel like this is kind of how I'm going to have to plan my days when I'm in medical school but slightly different haha. Also... GOOGLE CALENDAR IS AMAZING! If you don't use it, start using it. It will literally change your life. This week we taught a TRC in portuguese. It was hard, but kinda fun. The dude was super nice so that was good. My porch is getting pretty decent. I've now learned present tense, both past tenses, and one of the future tenses. Pretttty dope. Other than that, just been chillin. I would love to hear from you guys! Also follow me on Facebook lol. Tchau Tchau !! Love you all <3 Yo what's up meu amigos?!
Life is pretty much the same here in the "MTC." Lots of studying, scripture reading, dress wearing. Some new big struggles include: losing my name tag every time I change my clothes, forgetting where I put EVERYTHING, and staying up till 9:30. Yeah that's right STAYING UP till 9:30. I would go to bed at 7 if I could haha. The house is a lot warmer this week so that's been good. Also... I WENT THROUGH THE TEMPLE. It was wild. They officially call me garment girl. Saturday I actually got to leave the house and go to Deseret Book which was very exciting for me haha. Running errands is actually fun now. My mom told me to include something spiritual this time so I suppose I will. We've been talking about The Gospel of Jesus Christ this whole week. Faith, repentance, baptism, stuff like that. I read this quote from Elder Neil L. Andersen that says, "Repentance is not a backup plan; it is the plan." I really like that because I feel like a lot of the time repentance has a negative connotation to it, but I think it's important to remember that it's a privilege to repent. It's not something we HAVE to do, it's something we GET to do. I love you all and I hope you have a very dope week !! Olá meus amigos !! This week was TOO GOOD! I'm in a trio with Sister Grayson and Sister Carvalho, and they are the best. I love my district so much! They're like the only people I have any social interaction with these days so I'm glad they're fun.
Seriously though, I've started talking to myself because I'm never around people. I've had some pretty interesting conversations lol. Also update on the freezing house: my dad locked the thermostat at 62 degrees and I can't change it so if you know the password please let me know! Portuguese is such a pretty language. It's still really hard to learn. I went to a tutor this week and he helped me pronounce things a lot better. He said he could tell I studied French in high school cause I had a french accent when I was speaking Portuguese lol. Other than that life is GREAT. I'm loving the "MTC" !! Feel free to email me anytime so I'm not having conversations with myself !! I LOVE YOU ALL |
