WEEK: 47
AREA: Achada Santo António, Praia, Santiago COMPANION: Sister Arana WOW this week was INSANE !! First off, happy Christmas and new year to everyone :) I hope you guys all did lots of fun things! We had our Christmas party, and let me just say, it didn't go at all as expected, lol. We started an hour late and the tape ball took like 2 hours. I swear, by the time it was done all the presents were ruined, haha.We ate codfish, and during my recorder duet I started laughing so hard it sounded like a train wreck, but elder Aston did good. They ended up shuttling everyone home in the mission bus at like 11 ! Christmas Eve we went to a member's house for dinner. They're house is literally so cute! It was super fun!! And we ate codfish, again. Christmas day all the missionaries in Praia went and cleaned up trash on the beach and ate cinnamon rolls. Super duper fun!!! And then we went to lunch at a sister's family's house. We watched Santa Claus and then ate.... COD FISH ! I don't like codfish.... but that's the tradition here! There were also 6 baptisms in our chapel, so it really was a White Christmas :)We waited up till like 10:30 p.m. for transfer calls. To say there's a twist is an understatement. Sister Arana is going to my old area in Fogo and.... SISTER SMITH IS COMING BACK !!! Me and Sister Smith are white washing Palmarejo Grande and splitting a ward with the assistants... yay! Okay sorry this email was 5 years long! Hope you all had an amazing Christmas and and even better day after Christmas ! LOVE YOU ALL BUCKETS WORTH

WEEK: 46
AREA: Achada Santo António, Praia, Santiago COMPANION: Sister Arana This week FLEWWWW, like wow, okay, it's p-day again. Next week, half my time in Africa will be gone. Wow. Okay. Enough sad talk. THIS WEEK WASSSS AWESOOOMEEEE !!! It started out with the cutest lesson with Meleny and Ekon. We taught about profets and it was just awesome. I've been practicing my musical number for the up coming mission talent show haha. Me and one of the office elders are playing a duet on the recorder. Tune in next time for pictures :) We've been getting so many referrals with our add, so we're starting to create a referral send off sheet. You guys probably aren't too excited about that, but trust me it's cool. The Assomada sisters stayed with us for a night because sister Nascimento has to get surgery! Kinda spoookssss. Also, our president and his wife decided that every Friday is date night for them. So naturally, we did the same. For "date night" this week we went to this super fancy restaurant on the side of a cliff. The view was AMAZING !! 10/10 would recommend. Sometimes you've just gotta treat yourself :) Saturday was quite eventful itself. We ate cachupa with bishop and his wife, then headed to the elder's baptism. The less active we're teaching gave me a note and said I couldn't show it to Arana. So of course, after the lesson we ran and opened it with the elders haha. It said, "I want to marry you after your mission...." and then some other stuff. Very odd, the elders will now be teaching him. We had Claudio's baptism and it was so precious. And then the ward Christmas party. It didn't actually start till like 8:00 p.m. and in the middle of it the power went out, but all is well. We ended up just grabbing a bunch of food and going home because it was 9 when dinner started lol. And Sunday all the missionaries sung in the Christmas concert for the stake. It was the best Christmas concert I had been to yet, until we got up lol. But it was so cute and festive and I just love my ward so much. Hope you all have very happy holidays and good parties anddd a very Merry Christmas! Love you all!! WEEK: 45
AREA: Achada Santo António, Praia, Santiago COMPANION: Sister Arana This week was ÓTIMO!! SUPERFIXE! O MELHOR! It started off with an almost awesome p-day activity lol. We bought these shirts to bleach tie dye from this Chinese shop. Turns out, the shirts were made of BLEACH RESISTANT FABRIC!! Okay not really, but like they didn't change colors with bleach soo... kinda sad, but all is well. We made our Christmas Facebook and it's doing SOO GOOD!! 91 conversations and 23 referrals in the 1st 12 hours. Overall we have like 320+ in 3 days. So yeah very excited about that. But it also means that me and the other social media leader basically just respond to messages any free breath we get. (If I don't respond to you emails today, that is why). We had some pretty creepy taxi drivers this week, started planning our Christmas party, ate some really melty ice cream, and did some stuff to get visas to stay here. We also had Elvis's baptism. It was the sweetest thing that ever happened, and his bestest friend ever baptized him too. On Sunday we went to get our friends to take them to church, and they both had already gone AN HOUR EARLY for the primary program. COMPENSATED. BLESSINGS. Okay love you all, have a super happy day, and even happier holidays. - your friend, Sister Sullivan WEEK: 44
AREA: Achada Santo António, Praia, Santiago COMPANION: Sister Arana A general authority actually come to Cape Verde. Yep. But anywayyyy this week wasss WILDDD !!! First off: we went to the lighthouse in Praia on Monday and it was actually legit. I designated myself as activities coordinator of the Praia Oeste zone, so STAY TUNED FOR SOME DOPE THINGS. On Tuesday Elder and Sister Alliaud from the seventy did our zone conference. It was super cool! I had lots of hunger and a headache and my comp has the worst diarrhea, but other than that it was DOPEEE! I asked Sister Allioud about pear juice and she thought I said parachute, so we started talking about sky diving lol. We started doing some light the world stuff on the Facebook page. Europe gave us a bunch of content but it's very Europy... so we're trying to do a "Cape Verde Christmas." So let's see how it goes :))We set up our "Christmas tree" lol and we broke out the Christmas music. The new temple president is in our ward and our mission president so basically Sunday was awesome. And we got to take some dope pictures of some members for our Facebook add.Overall: 10/10 :) Feel free to tell me about YOUR week Luv u all, have an awesome next 7 days, and don't forget: BE GOOD! |
