WEEK: 32
AREA: São Filipe, Fogo COMPANIONS: Sisters Monteiro and Cobb Oiiii modi ki nhos sta?!! Wow this week was wild. Normally I don't have many cool stories to tell... but this week I ACTUALLY DO ! Okay so, you guys remember that place we signed up to help with the turtles, wellll they also plant endangered plants, lol. Anyway, STORY TIME: Tuesday we woke up at 4:50 am, hopped in this random volunteer's truck, drove to the other side of the island, climbed a mountain, and helped plant some endangered plants! It was literally so legit I can't even describe it. But, fotos below :) Also this week we found 9 new people and marked a baptismal date !!! AHHHHH that's like unheard of in this area so very very happy. I mean yes they're all children, but they love to "hear the word of god." PRECIOUS. Wednesday in English class we learned about food, so everyone brought some food and we had a FEAST! It was super fun and wow I just love my students, haha. Thursday we headed down to the beach with a member and HELD TURTLE EGGS! We tried to find actual turtles, but all we could find was a little graveyard of dead baby ones :( but the eggs were literally like ping pong balls. You could even squish them a lil. SOO LEGITTTT !!! Tender mercy: Okay so we don't really have food or moneyyyy so we've been planning our rations, lol, BUT a member fed us dinner Saturday AND lunch Sunday so that was such a blessing. So yeah over all a super duper awesome week. Probably one of the dopest of the mish so far. Yay! I hope you all have an AMAZING FABULASTIC WEEK FULL OF FOOD AND LOVE AND FAMILYYYYY !!!!

WEEK: 31
AREA: São Filipe, Fogo COMPANIONS: Sisters Monteiro and Cobb Hey friends!! This week was WILDIN if ya know what I mean! It started off with us sharing beds because we only had two and I'm in a TRIOOO AGAINNNN WOOOHOOO, but now we have three so that's a little less exciting but a lot more comfortable lol. We headed to a place to sign up as volunteers to help with turtles so I'll update you guys on that when we actually do some stuff :) Our English class is back to poppin off! I live for English class, haha. It's LITERALLY THE BESTTTTT !! We had a missionary party with us, the sisters in Congresso, and the zls at a member's house and ate some yummy seafood and played some dope games. We also has some more lessons with our amiga and she is SOO PREPARED AHHHH !!! and her little baby is sooo precious Saturday the zls had a baptism at 4 and at 3:30 they called us to ask if we could FILL UP THE FONT!!! Side note, the font takes 3 HOURS TO FILLLLLLL AHHHH !!! so we ran to the church and started filling it up but it was taking forever so we grabbed buckets and a hose and started an assembly line, lol. But everything worked out in the end and we had a cute little party with them after :) Also: spiritual thought! I know I don't really do these too often, but I just want to say how real fasting is. Before the mish I definitely just didn't eat breakfast and called it fasting lol. But now that I do it fr, wow man it's just so cool. There's just something about it that's just like nothing else. So yeah, I hope you guys all think about what fasting really is and thennnn do something about it :) I LOVE you all. Hope you have an awesome week. Feel free to send funny pics you took this week, funny stories, orrrrr your favorite color! YAYAYYA HAVE AN AWESOME DAY AND AN EVEN AWESOMER WEEK !! |
