WEEK: 12
AREA: East Lorain, Ohio COMPANIONS: Sisters Bowles and Haas Heyyyy friends hope you all had an AMAAAZINGGG week!! For pday last week we went to the Cleveland Zoo! It was actually a pretty good one. I saw all sorts of animals that I had never even heard of haha. One of them looked like the snow creatures in Star Wars. Pretty dope. We made friendship bracelets to try and find people this week haha. We are seriously out of ideas here. We've been running out of chocolate milk wayyy too fast. So on Tuesday we had to put some regulations on it lol. We made the chocolate milky contract and now it's hanging up on our fridge. District Council was super fun this week! The aps came down from Michigan to chill with us for a bit. They're pretty dope. We had extra string so I made them bracelets from our district. One day Haasy put her sandwich ON the toaster to warm it up. Like 40 seconds later we looked back and it was black, crispy, and billowing smoke! Hahaha it was hilarious. We told the district about our chocolate milk crisis and our DL Fugie showed up one day with donuts and a WHOLE GALLON OF CHOCOLATE MILK! It was soo nice. It SNOWED this week. Like 4 inches. I miss normal human weather. Service is going super good except my nails are always filled with dirt from planting and getting ripped off boxes. The Hawks' have a horse and they made me pet it. Not cool. It was so spooks. Bowles put her face on the fence but turns out it was electric lol. Right after we watched one of the goats get their lip zapped into another realm. It was crazyyyy. One night I had a dream about my comps checking my fb post and I kept telling them to check it. They wouldn't so I got mad. Turns out in my sleep I was holding my pillow and telling them to check my pillow hahah. Kinda funny. Saturday John Groberg from The Other Side of Heaven spoke at our fireside. It was cool to hear all of his and his wife's experiences living in Tonga. His main peice of advice was to just keep swimming, so that I will do. Love you all! Hope you have an awesome day and an even awesomer week !! Tchau tchau !!

WEEK 11
AREA: East Lorain, Ohio COMPANIONS: Sisters Bowles and Haas Olá amigos!! Not much happened this week per usual. Let's just say Ohio has some interesting souls. I saw this quote that says, "Remember you once dreamed of being where you are today." I thought that was pretty cute because I remember putting my papers in and being so excited to go on a mission and now I'm here!! I can officially drive so that's been kinda fun. Ohio drivers aren't too bad, and we have this thing called TIWI that keeps us in check. We did facemasks this week which was refreshing to say the least lol. But we got our door stuck so we had to take it off the hinges to fix it! Turns out me and Haas met before the mission!! We both had the same class and sat two people away from eachother for a whole semester. We even had a conversation about our missions and how we're both speaking portuguese!! Wild stuff. We're putting free Jesus stuff on FB Marketplace to try and find people so we painted a bunch of wooden coaster so try and snatch some people up. On Saturday I was messaging this dude and I was talking about how God has a body and he says, and I quote, "You're thinking like a creature Brinley!" It was hilarious, hahaha, I didn't even know what to say back to that. On Sunday I basically got proposed to. Lol jk. Kinda. Thom came with us to church finally. That night we were joking about him being a pro wrestler and I was just kidding and said I would hold his spit bucket. Well apparently he really liked that haha. He was like "Oh my gosh I could just ask you to marry me right now!!" It was a little awkward after that. Idk why but for some reason all the funny things happen to me!! And yeah that's basically it for this week! Hope all you creatures are doing well! Have an awesome day! And an even awesomer week! WEEK: 10
**transfers AREA: East Lorain, Ohio COMPANIONS: Sisters Bowles and Haas Hey friends!! Hope you're all feeling lovely today. Honestly this week wasn't too eventful, so here goes. For P-day we went to build-a-bear. It was super fun!! I made a bunny named MJ and she's wearing a swim suit. Super cute. Then we went to get Philly cheese stakes, but these Chinese ladies gave us samples of their chicken and we were SOLD. They were the best saleswomen this planet has ever seen! We started volunteering at this family owned greenhouse and it's the best!! We helped plant herbs this week. So many herbs hahaha. Next week we're going to help with their hanging flower arrangements. I'm soo excited!! They gave us this begonia flower, we named her Divinity. DON'T WORRY, I'LL ATTACH PICS!! I've been eating a bunch of these expired peaches because they were super good! Turns out they weren't lol. I puked them all up in this little portapotty looking thing. It was awful. No more expired food for me! We caught a bunch of heat this week. As in getting flamed. As in nobody showing up to our lessons, so that wasn't too fun. Thursday we got shot up with the covid vaccine. Not to be confused with the 3 shootings that happened in Lorain this week. It WRECKED me. To death. I was freezing cold, even though it was hot. Aches, pains, chills, you name it, I had it. But I didn't pass out so that was good haha. Transfers were this week. I was super nervous we were gonna get split up, but we didn't! I was so happy I cried haha. But Durham is going up to Michigan. He was super fun to do service with and he's like my twin. But all is well, I've got my girls hahaha. We finished our 10 day BOM read on Sunday. It was intense but super cool. It feels a lot more like a story when you read it faster. In church this dude gave a talk and it was actually good. He told this story about a boy and a snake. The snake asks the boy to pick him up and move him, but the boy says no cause he's a snake so he'll bite him. Eventually he trusts the snake and carries him down the mountain, but at the bottom the snake bites him. The boy asks why, and the snake says, "You knew what I was when you picked me up." It's hard to see the consequences of your actions before they come back to bite you. As I look back and see all the snakes I've picked up in my life, they never ended well. I hope you all take a second to reflect for yourselves as well. Are there any snakes you're holding right now that you know will bite you in the end? If so, drop them! I PROMISE, it will be well worth it in the end. I love you all !! Have an awesome day and an even awesomer week !!! WEEK: 9
AREA: East Lorain, Ohio COMPANIONS: Sisters Bowles and Haas Heyyyy friends??? What's good?! Out here everything is! Last week for p-day we went and hung out in Cleveland on purpose. It was pretty dope. We went to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. I SAW HARRY STYLES... outfit!! It was awesome hahaha. And we got these super big super yummy burritos. This week during service (at the soup kitchen) Pastor Ross' grandson was there. He's precious. Also we were making all the funniest scenarios of what would happen if someone came in and tried to stab Haas. HAHAHA it was hilarious!! Basically the plan is for her to protect her face and vital organs long enough for Bowles to hop on his back and get the neck with her pocket knife and I get the knife out of his hand. We had zone conference on Wednesday and I put it in the schedule for 10. It was an hour away but we were a little late. Turns out it was actually at 11 so we were 45 MINUTES EARLY!!! HAHAHA idk why anyone trusted me to plan. This random dude drove past our house and started taking pictures of it. Kinda weird so we called Mr. President. He said not to worry, so all is well. It snowed on the 1st and the wind was insane!! The lake looked like an ocean!! This week we started our 10 day Book of Mormon challenge. It's going awesome. We got a new referral, King! He's super cool. We called him and he asked how he can become a member of our church!! Butttt he's got a long way to go. He writes his own scriptures... General conference this weekend was awesome! We just set up in our room and watched it on a phone. My favorite talk was from Renlund about how unfair life is, but the atonement of Jesus Christ makes it right! Feel free to send me your favorite part about conference!! Love you all, have an awesome day, and an even awesome week!! |
